Teach at our Yokohama School

The One Coin English Yokohama branch is definitely an outlier. It is the first school to be opened in Kanagawa but it is also one of our biggest branches. With over 1200 active students and 20 teachers from 9 different countries, it definitely is a lively school to work in!

Many of the teachers here started with little to no experience, so don't worry! Teaching English has to start somewhere and you can definitely learn a lot from the team.

Working at OCE has made me feel more at home in Japan. As a non-Japanese person, I have often felt out of place living in Japan even though Japanese people are kind and understanding. My coworkers, staff, and teachers alike, are like family to me and have made it so much easier to be myself. I've learned so much from my students and feel so good when I can help them speak English or just relax and have a good conversation. OCE is as much a home to me as Japan is!

Originally, I was taking one-on-one lessons at another company, but when I wasn't quite able to feel my progress, and wanted to take a break from studying English. I was invited by a person who was attending One Coin English. I took a trial lesson there and have been learning at Yokohama ever since!
What Makes Us Different?

Love and Tolerance

One of the biggest fears of people who want to teach part-time or full-time is that companies will not accept them based on nationality, hair color, or not having a certain type of personality or fashion style. We have made it our top priority to have a comfortable environment that is based on tolerance, acceptance, and teamwork. Here you have a unique voice, you can express yourself through your fashion style, personality, tattoos, earrings, etc. When other companies reject your uniqueness, we embrace it.

Life by The Bay

Teach part-time in the 2nd biggest city in Japan. Yokohama is located 20 minutes away from downtown Tokyo and it is very famous for its modern architecture, beautiful bay, fun amusement parks, and its colorful and historic Chinatown which is the largest in Asia and often claimed to be the largest in the world. There are many activities and things to do, such as Minato Mirai and the famous Ramen Museum which takes people back in time to 1950s Tokyo. Last but not least, you can attend a BayStars game at the Yokohama Stadium.
