All the documents sent through the app need to be verified, and it takes 1 week for the bank to do so.<\/p>\n<p>So, if there are any errors with the application, a correction will need to be made, and another week will be required for verification.<\/p>\n<p>Here are common reasons a verification fails, according to JP Post Bank:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We cannot open an account based on your declared purpose of the transactions.\n<ul>\n<li>Be specific as to why you need an account!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The expiration date on your personal identification document has passed.\n<ul>\n<li>If the Residence Card&#8217;s expiration date is within 3 months of the application date, your application will be denied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The image on the Residence Card was incomplete.\n<ul>\n<li>Be careful not to cover any part of your Residence Card when taking the picture or to send one with too much reflection, making it difficult to read the information on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Incorrect\/different name, birth date, nationality, period of stay, and visa type.\n<ul>\n<li>Enter <strong>exactly<\/strong> the same information on your Residence Card in your application, including spaces and the name in Katakana.<br \/>\nCheck this\u00a0link\u00a0for more details on the reasons a verification can fail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A few more things to consider:<\/p>\n<p>The account type that you can apply for with this application is &#8220;<strong>Yucho Direct + (Plus)<\/strong>&#8220;, a <strong>bankbook-free<\/strong> account.
