For tourists, they&#8217;re known for the cheap food and drinks but for residents, they mean much more.<\/p>\n<p>Almost every day, even though I shouldn&#8217;t, I go by a konbini at least once. Not only to buy something to eat or drink but to pay bills, withdraw money, or get a shirt in case you need one (who knows!). When I arrived in Japan, I wasn&#8217;t aware of all the services a Japanese convenience store offered and I still get impressed when I find something new that can be done there.<\/p>\n<p>Today we&#8217;ll talk about all the services a konbini can offer and how you can take advantage of that.<\/p>\n\t<h3>Services Offered<\/h3>\n<p><strong>At the counter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pay Bills<\/li>\n<li>Buy garbage disposal stickers (for companies and\/or big items)<\/li>\n<li>Receive and send packages and luggage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Multi-copy machine<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buy, pay, or issue a ticket<\/li>\n<li>Issue credit card bill slip<\/li>\n<li>Issue government documents &#8211; only with a My Number Card:\n<ul>\n<li>Copy of resident record<\/li>\n<li>Seal registration certificate<\/li>\n<li>Family register certificate\/<\/li>\n<li>Copy of family register<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Tax certificate<\/li>\n<li>Print documents and pictures<\/li>\n<li>Print a Japanese resume template<\/li>\n<li>Currency Exchange<\/li>\n<li>Buy lottery tickets<\/li>\n<li>Smartphone charging battery rental<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATMs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Withdraw money<\/li>\n<li>Charge IC Card<\/li>\n<li>Top Up PayPay account<\/li>\n<li>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.family.co.jp\/services\/print\/print.html\">more<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get into details about some of these services.<\/p>\n\t<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onecoinenglish.com\/hireme\/application-form\/\"><strong><em>Looking for a part-time job teaching English in Tokyo, Yokohama or Saitama? Click here to apply!<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\t<h3>Sending luggage to\/from a konbini<\/h3>\n<p>Be aware that not all convenience stores offer this service, so plan before taking your luggage to the counter.<\/p>\n<p>Places like 7-Eleven, Family Mart, and Lawson offer these services in partnership with Yamato Transportations (TA-Q-BIN) and JP Post (Yu-Pack).<\/p>\n<p><strong>TA-Q-BIN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/onecoinenglish.com\/hireme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/yamatota-q-bin.jpg\" alt=\"Yamato TA-Q-BIN\" width=\"235\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp\/ytc\/en\/send\/services\/takkyubin\/\">Kuko Takkyubin (TA-Q-BIN)<\/a> is specifically for sending luggage to or from the airport. You can check Yamato&#8217;s rates and time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp\/ytc\/en\/send\/services\/takkyubin\/\">here<\/a>. The website has an English version and you can also check how to fill out waybills with all the information about the delivery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yu-Pack<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/onecoinenglish.com\/hireme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/logo_yupack-600x224.png\" alt=\"yupack jp post\" width=\"371\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Yu-Pack is a service offered by the Japanese Post Office and it can be used in convenience stores, Post Offices, and\/or JP Post Bank offices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/global.map.japanpost.jp\/p\/en\/search\/\">Here<\/a> you can check out all the JP Post locations where the service is available, in English!<\/p>\n<p>Be careful with the airport you&#8217;re coming from\/to, not all airports in Japan are covered by the service. However, the main ones, like Narita and Haneda Airport, and Kansai International Airport have the service. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.post.japanpost.jp\/service\/you_pack\/airpo\/ichiran_en.html\">Here <\/a>you can see a list of all the airports with the Yu-Pack baggage delivery service.
