ニューヨーク市近郊で育ち、最近まではフロリダ州で中学校の生物教師として働いていました。大学では生物学を専攻し、大学院卒業後は医療系やビジネス分野でも働いていました。その後、教師をしていた親友の勧めをきっかけに教育に興味を持つようになりました。そして、日本で英語を教えることが自分に合っていると感じ、One Coin Englishで働くことを決めました。
