マラウイ湖の近くにある大学でソーシャルワーク（社会福祉）を学びました。また、教えることや異なる文化を持つ人々と交流することが好きで、TESOL資格も取得しています。来日前は教会の日曜学校で子どもたちに教えていました。現在は一児の母でもあり、妻としても日々家族を支えています。
